Template notice — delete this box before launch
This page is a working draft, not legal advice. Fill in the operator name, registered
address, tax number and a real contact address below, check it against your own
circumstances, and delete this box. If you add analytics, a booking widget, a chat tool or
an embedded form later, this page and
Cookies both stop being
true — update them.
Who is responsible
The controller of any personal data collected through this site is [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME],
[REGISTERED ADDRESS], Slovenia, tax number [TAX NUMBER]. You can reach us at
stay@belavoda.example or +386 41 000 000.
What this website collects
By itself, almost nothing. This site is a handful of static pages. It has no accounts, no
comments, no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking scripts. Nothing you type into
the date fields is sent anywhere — the price is worked out inside your own browser and then
forgotten when you close the tab.
Two things do happen automatically:
- Server logs. Our host records the usual request data — IP address, time, page
requested, browser user-agent — for security and troubleshooting. We do not build profiles
from it and it is deleted on the host's normal cycle.
- Fonts. The pages load three typefaces from Google Fonts. Doing so tells Google your
IP address, because that is how the web fetches a file. It is the only third party involved
in rendering this site. See Cookies for what that does and does
not involve.
What we collect when you get in touch
The date check on each house's page does not submit a form. Pressing Request these dates opens your own
email client, or WhatsApp, with a message already written; you decide whether to send it. If
you do send it, we then hold what you chose to tell us:
- your name and the address or number you wrote from;
- the dates, number of guests and any requests you mention;
- for a confirmed stay: the guest details Slovenian law requires us to register, and the
payment reference for your deposit.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- To answer you and to perform the booking — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Without it we
cannot quote you a price or hold a date.
- To meet legal obligations — Article 6(1)(c). Slovenian accommodation providers must
register guests with the police and keep accounting records; tourist tax is reported to the
municipality.
- Our legitimate interest — Article 6(1)(f) — in keeping a record of correspondence
and in keeping the site secure.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that never became a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Booking correspondence: 2 years after the stay.
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, because tax law says so.
- Guest registration data: for the period the police register requires, and no longer.
Who else sees it
Our email provider and telephone network, as a technical necessity. Our accountant. The
authorities where the law compels it. If you booked through Booking.com or Airbnb, that
platform is a separate controller with its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We do
not sell data, and we do not send marketing.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to
processing based on legitimate interest, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to
stay@belavoda.example and we will answer within one
month. If you think we have handled it badly you can complain to the Slovenian Information
Commissioner (ip-rs.si).
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data. Children are
very welcome to stay; a cot and a high chair are free.
Changes
If this page changes we update the date at the top. Material changes will be obvious rather
than quiet.
